Japan plane collision: Five Japanese Coast Guard crew dead

Five Japanese coast guard personnel were killed Tuesday when their plane collided with a passenger jet at Tokyo airport. During the accident, the passenger plane with 379 passengers caught fire.

Six coast guard personnel were on board the plane that crashed into the Japan Airlines passenger plane. One of them managed to get to safety, the other five were missing. They were found a little later. All five missing people died of their injuries. The sixth employee was seriously injured.

The coast guard plane was ready to fly towards the Japanese city of Niigata. It was carrying relief supplies for the earthquake-affected areas of the Noto Peninsula . The coast guard plane caught fire just like the passenger plane, the Tokyo fire brigade reported.

The accident happened on Tuesday at Haneda Airport. After the passenger plane caught fire, all occupants were evacuated. Nothing is yet known about possible injuries.
