SAN FRANCISCO – A United Airlines Boeing 737-800 landed in the US state of Oregon on Friday with a missing panel. It concerns a 25-year-old aircraft that left San Francisco.
There was no emergency landing, the Boeing landed safely at its final destination Medford, where the damage was discovered at the gate. There were 139 passengers and six crew members on board the aircraft. No one was injured.
The local newspaper Rogue Valley Times shares images of the hole in the plane. Medford International Airport remained closed for a while in an attempt to find the missing panel, but the part has not yet been found.
