WELLINGTON – The investigation into the incident early this week with a LATAM Airlines Boeing focuses on the relocation of a seat in the cockpit after which the aircraft suddenly dived during a flight between Sydney and Auckland. This is reported by trade website The Air Current based on two people who were informed of the research.

The sudden dive of the Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner threw people on board through the cabin. More than fifty people were injured.

According to a source from The Air Current, the key question for investigators is what caused the chair to move. Based on the current findings, the pilot may have moved the seat, but not intentionally. Another possibility that is also being investigated is short circuiting.
