Nineteen-year-old man died in fireworks incident in Haarlem

A nineteen-year-old man died just before midnight on Sunday in a fireworks incident on the Henk van Turnhoutpad in Haarlem.

It concerns a “fatal accident involving fireworks”, the police wrote on X. The police are still investigating how the Haarlemmer died. For privacy reasons, no further information about the victim’s identity has been released.

This is the second fatal fireworks incident around the turn of the year. On Saturday, a man was killed in Neeritter, Limburg, when a piece of fireworks exploded while being lit. A second person was injured.
