Motorist killed in collision with van near Cothen

COTHEN – A motorist was killed on Wednesday evening due to a collision with a van on a provincial road near the Utrecht village of Cothen. The police report this. The driver of the van was taken to hospital with unknown injuries. The identity of the fatal victim has not been released.

The accident happened around 7.40 pm on the Graaf van Lynden van Sandenburgweg, the N229. For reasons unknown, the van and car collided. The police are investigating, which is why the N229 at the roundabout at Cothen is closed in both directions all evening.
