500 kilos of coke found in container in Rotterdam port

ROTTERDAM – Customs and the police found 500 kilos of cocaine with a street value of more than 37.5 million euros during a check in the port of Rotterdam on Wednesday. The Public Prosecution Service reports that the drugs were hidden in a container that came from Colombia.

The bags containing drugs were hidden in barrels containing jam and marmalade. Bags containing the cocaine were found in eight barrels, the Public Prosecution Service said. The container was intended for a company in the Netherlands, which probably had nothing to do with the smuggling. The drugs have been destroyed.
