American YouTube personality MrBeast has taken over the top spot on the list of individual accounts with the most subscribers from Swedish YouTube star PewDiePie, reports BBC News . The Swede has been leading the list since 2013.
MrBeast’s YouTube account now has 112 million subscribers, PewDiePie now has 111 million. YouTube rounds the number of subscribers to millions, so the difference between the two YouTube stars could actually be very small.
MrBeast is the pseudonym of Jimmy Donaldson, an American philanthropist. He is best known for his giveaways. In many of his videos, valuables or money are given away to the less fortunate or charities.
PewDiePie, whose real life name is Felix Kjellberg, is best known for videos of him playing games and commenting in English. In 2019, he became the first YouTube star to break the 100 million subscriber mark.
While MrBeast now has the most subscribers as an individual YouTube personality, Indian YouTube channel T-Series has more subscribers. That channel belongs to a music video publisher and has more than 200 million subscribers.
