Albert Heijn Franchise Owner Hacked, Personal Data Leaked on Dark Web

Hackers have published 20 percent of the stolen data on the dark web, a concealed part of the internet. This includes passports of owners and annual accounts of the company. The published data contains documents from 2025, but the information dates back to 2017.

Bun operates 26 Albert Heijn stores in the Netherlands and employs approximately 3,500 people. Additionally, Bun is involved in the management and renovation of real estate.

RTL Nieuws reports that the cybercriminals are demanding a ransom from Bun, threatening to release more information if their demands are not met. The exact amount being requested by the criminals is not known. The data was reportedly obtained during a ransomware attack.

Earlier this year, data belonging to Albert Heijn employees was also leaked following a data breach at the parent company, Ahold Delhaize.
