STRASBOURG – The European Parliament in Strasbourg warns that people should not drink from the water bottles in the parliament buildings because there is a suspected contamination in the water.
According to a source, the suspicion arose because a person had become ill after drinking from one of the bottles.
Parliament’s crisis service sent a message by text message to alert MEPs and other attendees of the possible contamination. A parliament spokesperson could not confirm that anyone had become ill and said the unusual warning is mainly a precautionary measure.
Investigations are currently underway to determine what could have caused the contamination in the bottles and how serious it is.
