Israeli strike cuts road used by people fleeing Lebanon

An Israeli airstrike created a large crater in a road near Lebanon’s Masnaa border crossing with Syria, according to reports. The road had been a critical escape route for hundreds of thousands of people fleeing to Syria in recent days, as confirmed by the Lebanese government.

The Israeli military had earlier accused Hezbollah of using this crossing to smuggle military equipment into Lebanon.

Over the past 10 days, more than 300,000 people, the majority of them Syrian, have crossed into Syria from Lebanon, the Lebanese authorities stated.
