Over the past year, Israeli forces have carried out airstrikes on more than 40,000 targets in the Gaza Strip, uncovered 4,700 tunnel shafts, and destroyed 1,000 rocket launcher sites, according to a statement by the military. The announcement coincides with the one-year anniversary of the Hamas-led militant attacks that sparked Israel’s offensive on the region.
The Israeli military reported that, with permission to release certain names, 726 Israeli soldiers have been killed since the conflict began on October 7, 2023. Among these, 380 soldiers died during the initial October 7 attacks, while 346 lost their lives in Gaza operations beginning October 27, 2023.
Since the start of the conflict, 4,576 troops have been wounded. Additionally, 56 soldiers were killed in operational accidents, though the military did not provide further specifics on these incidents.
To mark the October 7 anniversary, the military disclosed that it had mobilized 300,000 reservists since the conflict’s onset, comprising 82% men and 18% women, with nearly half aged between 20 and 29.
Since the conflict began, Gaza militants have launched 13,200 rockets into Israel. An additional 12,400 rockets originated from Lebanon, with 60 fired from Syria, 180 from Yemen, and 400 from Iran, according to military figures.
The Israeli military also reported killing over 800 militants in Lebanon, where they have targeted 4,900 sites from the air and approximately 6,000 on the ground. In the West Bank and Jordan Valley, Israeli forces have arrested over 5,000 suspects in the past year.
Additionally, the military claimed the elimination of eight Gaza militant brigade commanders, around 30 battalion commanders, and 165 company commanders over the year.
The conflict in Gaza erupted after Hamas militants attacked southern Israel on October 7, 2023, resulting in 1,200 deaths and the abduction of approximately 250 people, according to Israeli sources. Over 100 hostages remain in Hamas captivity.
The subsequent Israeli offensive has led to the deaths of nearly 42,000 Palestinians, as reported by Gaza’s health ministry.
