Israel raids one of the last hospitals in northern Gaza

Israeli forces raided the Kamal Adwan hospital in northern Gaza on Friday, an operation confirmed by both Palestinian and Israeli sources.

The Palestinian Ministry of Health reported that fires broke out in the hospital’s operating room and laboratory, forcing dozens of patients to evacuate. Communication with hospital staff has also been lost.

The Israeli army acknowledged conducting an operation at the hospital, alleging that Hamas fighters were using the facility as a base during the ongoing conflict. The army stated that it had “facilitated the safe evacuation of civilians, patients, and medical staff prior to the operation.”

The Kamal Adwan hospital had been among the last functioning healthcare facilities in northern Gaza, providing critical care to the local population. In addition to patients, the building had also served as a shelter for hundreds of displaced individuals seeking refuge amidst the conflict.

The raid highlights the growing challenges for medical infrastructure and displaced civilians in the region as hostilities continue.
