Foreign Affairs again urges Dutch people to leave Iran

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs is reiterating its call for Dutch citizens in Iran to leave the country.

“The travel advice has been red for a long time and it will remain that way,” says the spokesperson. To encourage people to leave the country, the ministry sent another message via the Information Service on Wednesday.

It states that Dutch citizens should be aware that airlines can cancel their flights to and from Iran. “Do not assume that the Dutch government can then help you leave the country,” writes the Ministry of Foreign Affairs .

“It’s all just incredibly tense,” the spokesperson continues. She points to the situation in Lebanon: “It could suddenly become much more dangerous.”

The spokesperson does not make any statements about the number of Dutch people currently in Iran. According to her, those numbers are constantly changing. “The embassy knows approximately how many people are involved.”
