Emirates passengers are not allowed to carry pagers or walkie-talkies when travelling on the airline from Dubai. Emirates made the decision after pagers and walkie-talkies belonging to Hezbollah members exploded in Lebanon more than two weeks ago .
If a pager or walkie-talkie is found in passengers’ luggage at the airport, the Dubai police will confiscate it, Emirates reports. The airline flies from Schiphol to its home base in Dubai, among other places.
In addition, the Middle East’s largest airline has suspended flights to the Lebanese capital Beirut until October 15. Emirates will also not fly to Iraq and Iran until next Tuesday.
Flights to Jordan will resume from Sunday.
