A British cargo ship was allegedly hit by a missile in the Red Sea

A British cargo ship in the Red Sea was allegedly hit by a missile, the Ambrey company announced.

“A British Bahamian-flagged cargo ship was reportedly hit by a missile while crossing the Red Sea, approximately 34.5 kilometers west-northwest of Moka, Yemen,” the maritime security company said in a statement.

The British Maritime Safety Agency (UKTMO) said it had received a report of drone activity “near Bab el Mandeb, from the direction of Yemen”.

Houthi rebels in Yemen have threatened to attack Israeli and Israeli-allied ships in the Red Sea, in retaliation for the country’s war against the Palestinian Hamas in Gaza.
