WASHINGTON – America is in shock after the failed assassination attempt on Donald Trump. The Republican presidential candidate escaped death Saturday during a campaign rally when a gunman fired at least eight bullets before the man was killed by a Secret Service sniper. A bystander died in the hail of bullets.
The attack occurred late afternoon at an outdoor campaign rally in Butler, Pennsylvania. Trump was rushed away by the Secret Service after shots were heard. TV footage showed him ducking during his speech as explosions were heard, clutching his ear and then falling. Secret Service agents swooped on him.
