The man from The Hague who is in prison for abusing several young girls, has made more victims than initially thought , according to the judiciary . The man (26) is now officially suspected of abusing 31 girls, it was announced today at an interim hearing in court.
Ibrahim A. was arrested on February 6. At least 4,000 files with child pornography were found on his computer. According to the Public Prosecution Service, the child pornography was for personal use and to be distributed further.
The abuse took place from January 2021 to June last year. A. allegedly posed as a model scout and abused girls aged 6 to 14 online. He pretended to be a female employee of a modelling agency who was looking for new models. He asked the girls for photos and then persuaded them to perform indecent acts on themselves and film it. At least 24 girls eventually filed a complaint against him.
The suspect previously confessed and claims to have approached 50 to 100 girls. 27 possible victims have never been identified. Of the 31 known victims, 7 are from Belgium, the rest are from the Netherlands. Of the victims, 25 are younger than 12 years old, Omroep West writes .
Repentance
Ibrahim A. made a short statement at the interim hearing. “I am looking forward to the substantive hearing of my case and I am also dreading it. I will then come face to face with the victims and I will find that very difficult. I also do not know if I will find the right words then, but I will do my best.”
The substantive hearing of the case will take place next year and will take several days.
