Mijdrecht – During an investigation into chat tricks in a building in Mijdrecht, the police found two studios that were set up as a call center. Four suspects were arrested.
It concerns four men from the municipality of De Ronde Venen aged 19, 22, 25 and 27. Research has shown that more than 45 victims of chat tricks can be linked to these suspects. The victims live throughout the Netherlands, including in Amsterdam.
Several laptops and telephones were found in the studios. Call scripts were also found to support the defrauding of victims. In addition, a firearm was found in a studio.
By order of the mayor, the building on Vermogenweg in Mijdrecht has been closed.
