Over fifteen hundred fines issued during illegal car meetups in Limburg

At approximately 10:10 PM, the first cars began to gather in a parking lot in Horst. By the time the police arrived, around five hundred vehicles were present. Participants were performing ‘donuts’ and setting off fireworks, according to police reports.

Upon arrival, the police ensured that no new vehicles could enter the gathering area. Drivers wishing to leave the site were only allowed to do so after the driver and any passengers had been issued fines. This process continued until 5:00 AM the following morning.

The car meeting in Maasbree reportedly occurred after the gathering in Horst was suspended, as reported by L1 Nieuws. Approximately four hundred cars assembled around 11:00 PM at Lange Heide. Fireworks were also set off at this location, and an individual drove through the fence of a nearby campsite. Police issued fines to dozens of people here as well.

In addition to vehicles with Dutch and German license plates, cars with French and Belgian plates were also present. A German national was arrested for carrying a replica weapon.
