A police raid on a home in the Kralingen district of Rotterdam left one dead and two injured on Saturday night. Police entered the home shortly before 5:00 a.m. and found multiple people inside. An exchange of gunfire ensued.
The exchange of gunfire resulted in casualties, the police reported in a statement . These included two suspects. One had to go to the hospital, the second was fatally injured and died at the scene.
An officer was also hit, but he was unharmed. The officer was taken to the hospital. The suspect was arrested.
The raid took place in Speelmanstraat as part of an investigation into the death of a man who was found last week in a basement storage unit on Clauskindereweg in Amsterdam. One of the two suspects is also a suspect in the Amsterdam investigation.
