KLM has offered all its passengers who saw their flights cancelled due to the global computer failure a rebooking proposal for the coming days. A KLM spokesperson told the ANP news agency.
Passengers will not receive compensation, because in this case the airline was faced with force majeure, KLM said earlier.
The computer failure that started Friday morning after a CrowdStrike security update caused global aviation systems to fail. Almost every airport was affected and in the Netherlands flights were cancelled or departed much later.
The outage occurred at an inopportune time. Due to the summer holidays in Europe, airlines are very busy.
KLM cancelled 155 flights on Friday when the outage occurred. On Saturday, the airline cancelled another six flights in the aftermath. No more flights were cancelled on Sunday in connection with the computer outage, the spokesperson reports.
The spokesperson could not say how many KLM passengers were affected by the disruption and would therefore receive a rebooking proposal.
