German police reported Tuesday morning that they arrested a man who stole a Kawasaki motorcycle during a test drive in Rotterdam on Friday afternoon.
The owner contacted police after the man did not return, and a GPS tracker hanging under the motorcycle allowed officers to track its location, police said.
German police said Dutch police could not intercept the motorcycle before the border, so the pursuit was turned over to German authorities.
The chase ended when the motorcycle ran out of fuel and the rider stopped to refuel along the A3 between Duisburg and Düsseldorf. Officers arrested the man there, police said.
Police said the man had entered a destination in Romania in the navigation system and was also found not to have a motorcycle license.
