The annual children’s book week started again today. Expectations were high prior to the week, but apart from some hysterical teachers, the start went smoothly.
Police units responded en masse to primary schools this morning to quell possible escalations. “After all the fuss surrounding Children’s Book Week in 2021 and children forming an opinion at an increasingly early stage, there were fears of chaos this year,” reports a spokesperson for the CPNB. “Luckily we didn’t have to use force.”
However, Bart (De Regenboog Primary School) refused to come to school today. It is not yet clear whether Bart wants to make a statement towards the children’s book week and the CPNB.
