A bus with dozens of high school students caught fire this morning in Limburg. All occupants were able to leave the vehicle in time.
On the N273 near the village of Grathem, not far from Roermond, the driver smelled a burning smell and actually saw smoke coming from the bus, writes L1 Nieuws . He decided to stop the bus. All forty passengers were able to leave the vehicle in time. The bus burned out completely.
Replacement transport
The students, aged 12 to 18, were on their way to a technical school in the Belgian city of Maaseik, just across the border. Replacement transport is being arranged for them.
The cause of the fire is still unknown. The N273 is temporarily closed.
