ORANJESTAD – On Tuesday morning, Aruban Minister Glenbert Croes, who oversees Labor, Energy, and Integration, was arrested by authorities, as confirmed by the Public Prosecutor’s Office. Following his arrest, a search was conducted at his residence.
The arrest is part of a large-scale investigation into the illegal issuance of residence permits to companies for their employees. In June, searches were already carried out at various locations, including the Ministry of Integration, Labor, and Energy.
The residence permits in question were allegedly issued between 2020 and 2022. This investigation, known as “Portulaca,” is currently ongoing.
