Rolls-Royce Marks 100 Years of Phantom with Ultra-Limited Edition

Rolls-Royce is preparing to celebrate the 100th anniversary of its legendary Phantom with an exclusive special edition. Only 25 examples of this limited series will be produced, making it one of the rarest modern Phantoms to date.

A century of the Phantom

The Phantom name, long regarded as the pinnacle of luxury motoring, first appeared in 1925. Now, a century later, Rolls-Royce has chosen its current eighth-generation Phantom—on sale since 2018—as the basis for this celebratory model. Under the bonnet, the familiar twin-turbocharged V12 engine remains unchanged, ensuring a blend of silent power and smooth performance.

Craftsmanship pushed to new limits

The real innovation lies inside. Rolls-Royce says the special edition will showcase techniques never before used in its cars. These include 3D inlays, 3D ink application, and even 24-carat gold plating. According to the marque, the car features “the most intricate woodwork in the brand’s history.” Developing these details took more than a year, alongside dedicated staff training to master the new methods.

Phil Fabre de la Grange, Head of Personalization at Rolls-Royce, described the project as groundbreaking:
“To honor the Phantom in its centenary year, we pioneered revolutionary woodworking techniques, combining 3D inking, 3D inlay and gilding within a single surface. These processes push materials to their natural limits, turning each panel into a tactile sculpture.”

Rare collector’s item

This is not the first time Rolls-Royce has created a private collection. In 2024, the brand unveiled the Phantom Scintilla—a run of just 10 cars—at the Monterey Auto Show in California. Such small series are considered highly collectible and allow Rolls-Royce to showcase new design and technical possibilities to its most dedicated clients.

With only 25 examples being built, this centenary Phantom will almost certainly become a sought-after collector’s item, blending historic significance with modern craftsmanship at the very highest level.
