Taylor Swift wins lawsuit from poet who accused her of plagiarism

According to the poet, Kimberly Marasco, the 35-year-old Swift had stolen material for lyrics to songs on the albums Lover, Folklore, Midnights and The Tortured Poets Department.

The judge did not go along with that. She said Swift probably never saw the poems and that her lyrics did not resemble them. The judge also ruled that the poet could not claim copyright because the words were common.

The case is not quite finished after the ruling. The poet had also sued Swift herself. That case does not seem likely either, as it deals with the same allegations and is being heard by the same judge.
