Prosecutors demand prison sentence of at least 11 years against Diddy

NEW YORK — Prosecutors demanded a prison sentence of at least 11 years for Diddy as he faces sentencing Friday in New York.

The 55-year-old Diddy was found guilty by a jury last July of transporting persons for the purpose of prostitution after a two-month trial.

He could face up to 20 years in prison on that conviction. He was acquitted of the most serious charges: racketeering and human trafficking, which could have carried a life sentence.

Diddy has argued that he is innocent of all charges and is expected to appeal his conviction.

His lawyers urged the judge last week to impose a 14-month sentence. With that sentence, Diddy would be released by the end of this year, as he has been incarcerated for about a year.
