“I got calls, it was on the BBC, it was in the news worldwide,” Watson says in the podcast On Purpose with Jay Shetty. “My shame was on the streets. But the funny thing is that the funniest outcome of this was the many messages from people saying this has happened to them at one time or another.”
Watson drove over 61 kilometers per hour last year in a place where 48 kilometers per hour is allowed. She already had nine penalty points on her license for that speeding.
In the United Kingdom, you get a driving ban if you get 12 or more penalty points on your license within three years. The actress was therefore banned from driving for six months last July.
