Basic – Fit Acquires Nearly Five Hundred Gyms Across Central Europe

Basic-Fit currently operates in six European countries and is headquartered in Hoofddorp. With the acquisition of Clever Fit, Basic-Fit will expand its presence to twelve countries, the company announced. The total number of fitness clubs will increase to over 2,150.

Clever Fit has approximately one million members and nearly five hundred clubs, the majority of which are owned by franchisees. In Germany, there are 406 clubs, followed by 48 in Austria, 20 in Switzerland, 15 in Slovenia, and 2 in Romania. Additionally, the company has one location each in Croatia and the Czech Republic.

The acquisition price is set at 160 million euros, with an additional 15 million euros contingent upon Clever Fit meeting certain performance targets. Basic-Fit’s own customer base grew to 4.73 million in the first nine months of this year.
