World leaders club of G7 welcome Biden and his efforts against coronavirus

On Friday, leaders of the world’s advanced economies will get together on the Cornish coast, welcoming President Joe Biden as the newest member who came with the intention to reinstate American alliances. This is the first meeting for the leaders since the coronavirus pandemic started.

With the global economy still in shock, the pandemic still around, and the threats from China and Russia increasing, the G7 conference is expected to be one of the most consequential in recent memory.

As a President, Biden used his first trip abroad to state a purchase of vaccines for the world. He also had his first meeting with Britain’s Prime Minister in order to recreate a historic alliance of World War II.

Biden has a message of unity for the alliances that were disintegrated with President Donald Trump.

Biden used his commitment on vaccines as a chance to state how democracies can help the world. But back in the US, developments are lacking still, with the Justice Department’s pursuit of Democrats’ data revelation.

The Group 7 includes leaders of US, UK, France, Japan, Canada, Italy and Germany. He will take a ”family photo” as a symbolic moment for the President who acquired a place in this group.

As Biden’s wife, first lady Jill Biden stated that the President had been long training for this moment. “He’s been studying for weeks working up for today,” she said. “He knows most of the leaders that will be here. Joe loves foreign policy. This is his forte.”

After that, Biden will also meet for sessions on the global pandemic recovery. And according to the White House, the global economy is the first priority on the agenda, with the efforts that will “forge a more fair and inclusive global economy.”

Biden also came out with an announcement on Thursday, that the US was buying 500 million Pfizer vaccines, explaining how the US’ values needed it to help vaccinate the world.

While describing the vaccine announcement as ”historic”, Biden said that “America will be the arsenal of vaccines in our fight against Covid-19, just as America was the arsenal of democracy during World War II,” he said, “Now a new generation of American men and women … are committing today’s latest technology to build a new arsenal.”

Biden, along with the UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson have signed a version of the Atlantic Charter, that was used as a document to try and improve the world order after the war.

“The original really outlined what the postwar world order could and should look like; this new charter will make clear what the coming decades of the 21st century can and should look like.” stated a senior administration official, “It’s been 80 years since the last one, it’s about time that it gets refreshed.”
