The Netherlands’ Euro 2020 final team is revealed

On Wednesday, the coach – Frank de Boer, and the Dutch federation of the Netherlands have made public the final list of the 26 players for Euro 2020.

8 players have been dropped by the preliminary squad list that Boer made a few weeks ago. But Daley Blind made it to the list, although he has had an injury that did not let him play ever since March.

While we’re at the injuries, Liverpool’s Virgil van Dijk also couldn’t join the team since he tore his knee ligaments back in October so he had to come with a statement announcing that he will not be part of Euro 2020.

Players who will be featured include Barcelona’s midfielder Frenkie de Jong, along with Georginio Wijnaldum since apparently he will move to Camp Nou once his contract with Liverpool expires at the end of the season.

The Dutch team had missed Euro 2016 as well as the 2018 FIFA World Cup. This year however, they will have to play against Ukraine as their first opponent on 13th of June. The Netherlands is part of Group C, along with Austria and North Macedonia.

The 2018-2019 Nations League proved to be successful for the Dutch team, but they lost to Portugal in the end.

The list of the goalkeepers is: Tim Krul (Norwich City), Jasper Cillessen (Valencia) and Maarten Stekelenburg (Ajax).
