It seems that the pandemic situation is improving a lot in Europe and it won’t be long until everything is back to normal. In Europe, infection rates are heavily decreasing, and hospitals are in much better condition. As of right now, millions of Europeans have become immune to the Covid-19 virus due to the vaccination and restrictions.
The decreasing of infections is said to be a result of the campaigns in regards to the vaccines. All across Europe, the countries have taken lighter pandemic restrictions lately. Remember this time around last year when every Europe country had put strict pandemic restrictions? This year, it seems that this won’t be necessary since the infections have declined heavily.
Additionally, countries are getting rid of restrictions and lockdowns very fast. Due to the fact that the R value can’t exceed 1, lockdowns prove to be unnecessary at this point, and this is all because of vaccination. Eventually, everything is coming back to normal, with Britain lifting off the ‘no-hugging’ ban. Also, the 2021 summer festival is an optimistic event, along with the summer events of August and September.
Going back to January 2021, hospitals were heavily packed with thousands of people every day. Even for Britain and Portugal who are now the most Covid-free countries of Europe, the situation did not seem hopeful at the beginning of this year.
The Netherlands as well is proving to have a decrease of infections, but it is lacking behind the rest of European countries. In Netherlands, similar to Sweden, the number of infections has been quite considerable, therefore, it will take time until the numbers drop remarkably. But apart from this, there seem to be big regional differences across the Netherlands.
