Manchester City wins Premier League and sets record of consecutive wins

On Tuesday, Manchester City won the Premier League title after Leicester beat Manchester United by 2-1.

After Premier League, City will now have to focus on the Champions League final match with Chelsea that will take place on May 29.

With Pep Guardiola, City has had a huge success this season, with 21 back-to-back wins throughout all competitions and 15 in the Premier League. The last title of City marks Guardiola’s 9th title in his 12 seasons of management.

While there remain 3 more games left this season, City is 10 points ahead everyone in the table and that makes Manchester United’s chances to keep the title hopeless.

Guardiola’s team has had an exceptional performance this year. ”This has been a season and Premier League title like no other. This was the hardest one. We will always remember this season for the way that we won. I am so proud to be the manager here and of this group of player.” stated Guardiola.

Prior to the beginning of the season, City was in 13th place even after 6 games. But everything started to change drastically from November up until March, with City winning 21 consecutive games, 28 undefeated games thus breaking the record of the most consecutive winning games by an English team.

Despite the fact that City stumbled against United, its succession of the title displays Guardiola’s amazing tactics as well as the players’ brilliant talent.
