The Netherlands rely on EU to overcome the pandemic

Eurobarometer – an EU poll, showed that Dutch people trust EU to guide them through the pandemic. 68% of people have put their faith in the EU, at the same time, only 59% of EU citizens also feel the same.

Moreover, the EU poll also showed that a high percentage of people are willing to be vaccinated in the Netherlands, approximately 2/3 of the population. Apart from this, in regards to the government’s control to the pandemic, this is proved to be successful since 70% of people said they were content with the approach.

This poll included other statistics apart from the pandemic. The reliability of conventional news was also a topic. The eurobarometer took a survey with the citizens of all 27 member states of EU, along with the 5 candidate countries: Albania, Serbia, Montenegro, Turkey and Republic of North Macedonia and their perspectives on the euro and the traditional media.

The people who participated in the survey showed that 85% supported the EU, but when compared to the other members of EU, only a minority of people in the Netherlands – around 43%, agree with the idea that public money should be used to restore investment in the private district. Apart from this, the Netherlands also displayed its immense support for the minimum salary and the participators stated that every member state should implement a mandatory minimum salary (91%). On the other hand, a huge percentage – 94%, stated that taxation should be fair and square on big technology companies.

Furthermore, the EU poll also showed that 70% of Dutch people trust the common media such as TV, newspapers or radio, whereas 10% agreed with the statement that social media is a valid source.
