The Mercedes AMG GT Black Series makes history with record time on the Nurburgring

Clearing the Nurburgring in just 6 minutes and 43 seconds, the AMG GT Black Series has left many jaws dropped at the sheer magnificence of its speed and potential. Although this news is yet to be confirmed by Mercedes, the validation of this info would mean that the AMG GT BS has left behind the Lamborghini Aventador SVJ by a full second. And this was reported to have been accomplished in sub-optimal conditions.

With the right conditions and the right man behind the wheel, maybe this beast will outrun even the Porsche 911 GT2 RS MR.

While we are on it, let us not forget to mention that the AMG GT Black Series was not the only car running the laps at Nurburgring. The Porsche 911 GT3 RS MR also went around the track, going head-to-head with the lap time of the 991.2 GT3 RS and beating it the second time around.

Coming back to the topic at hand, the Mercedes AMG GT BS has now reclaimed the production record. Although this 710bhp beast has taken the throne, for now, it is difficult to say how long it will remain unmatched.

The Porsche 992 GT3 RS has been sighted as prototype versions with some impressive aero pieces and it is possible that this car will be the one to dethrone the AMG GT Black Series.

The excellent 992 GT3 RS has maybe made the 991.2 obsolete. If the latter doesn’t push Porsche to the top at the Nordschleife, the former may just do it.
